Terms of Service.

InkABook is a service, operated by Votian Labs, that helps you create original illustrated books: writing a manuscript, generating illustrations, laying them out to print standard, and exporting a print-ready file. It is provided as-is, and features may change as the product develops.

You need an account to create books. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 18, or have a parent/guardian's permission and involvement, to hold an account and make purchases.

InkABook runs on a credit balance rather than a flat per-book price. Each production step (starting a book, each illustrated page, variations, repairs) has its own credit cost, shown before you spend it. Credits are purchased in packs via Stripe, are non-refundable once spent on a generation that was actually delivered, and don't expire. An optional monthly membership is billed separately and can be cancelled any time; cancelling stops future billing but doesn't refund the current period.

You own the books you create, including the manuscript and illustrations generated for you, once fully delivered. InkABook is built to produce original work: it won't generate content that copies or closely imitates a protected/copyrighted character, brand, or franchise, and will decline requests that ask for one directly. You're responsible for how you use and publish what you create, including complying with any third-party publishing platform's own rules (e.g. Amazon KDP).

Manuscripts and illustrations are produced by third-party AI models (including Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, and xAI Grok) and automatically quality-checked, but nothing is published or delivered as final until you've reviewed and approved it. Output can occasionally be inaccurate, inconsistent, or need a manual fix. That's why every page goes through your approval, and why a manual repair option exists.

If you upload your own photos or type your own ideas, you confirm you have the right to use them and that they don't infringe anyone else's rights. Don't use InkABook to create content that's illegal or exploitative. InkABook is built around children's books by default, and content moderation is applied to every generated image and violating content will be blocked. The one exception is the separate, age-gated Adult Fiction feature described in section 10 below.

You can stop using InkABook at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service, attempt to bypass content safety measures, or violate these terms.

InkABook is provided without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, Votian Labs isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.

InkABook may offer text-only adult-fiction and erotic-fiction writing features. These features are restricted to users aged 18 or over.

By accessing these features, you confirm that: you are at least 18 years old; the date-of-birth information or age declaration you provide is accurate; you will comply with InkABook's Adult Content Rules; and you will not use these features to create sexual content involving minors or otherwise unlawful content.

InkABook reserves the right to restrict, suspend or terminate access to adult-content features or the wider service where we reasonably believe these rules have been breached. InkABook may also modify or strengthen its age-access controls if legal requirements, platform policies, regulatory guidance or product risk changes.
